When to change a threshold
Thresholds aren't set once and forgotten. Your Scowtt team watches how campaigns respond and recommends changes when the signs point to it. Here's what they look for.
Signs a change may help
| What you might see | Likely adjustment |
|---|---|
| Conversion volume is low, or the campaign is slow to learn | Lower the upload threshold, or send earlier in the funnel |
| Bidding isn't stabilizing during an early test | Favor volume by lowering the upload threshold |
| Campaigns keep chasing low-quality leads | Introduce or widen the $0 value group |
| Costs per click are rising with no improvement in quality | Strengthen the difference between weak and strong leads |
| Results plateau once campaigns are mature | Shift toward precision with stricter thresholds |
The order we check
When performance looks off, your Scowtt team works through these questions in order:
- Volume: Is there enough of it? If not, lower the upload threshold or send earlier in the funnel.
- Negative signal: Is the platform hearing enough about who to avoid? If not, widen the $0 value group.
- Competitive values: Are the values strong enough for the platform to act on? If not, adjust how values are scaled.
- Funnel stage: Are we optimizing too late in the funnel? If so, send signals earlier.
- Stability: Is learning unstable? If so, smooth thresholds or reduce how often data is sent.
