Set up your Google Ads test campaign

Your test campaign bids toward Scowtt's predicted value using a custom conversion goal. Do this after the Scowtt Conversion Value action appears in your account. The same setup applies to Search campaigns, as well as Performance Max and Demand Gen. Your team sets this up during the Prepare stage, with guidance from Scowtt.

Steps

  1. Create a custom conversion goal

In Google Ads, go to Goals, then Conversions. At the bottom of the page under Custom goals, select Add custom goal. Include only the Scowtt Conversion Value action and save it as Scowtt Custom Goal.

  2. Apply the goal to the test campaign

Open the test campaign, select Edit settings (the gear icon), find Conversion goals, choose Scowtt Custom Goal and save.

  3. Turn on experiment sync

Make sure experiment sync is enabled, so any changes made to the control campaign are copied to the test campaign. That keeps the conversion signal as the only difference between the two.
